Dallas Tornado, 10/20/19

2019

Video, Color, Sound, 12:21 Minutes

On October 20th, 2019, an incredibly strong EF-3 tornado surprised the entire Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex in North Texas, tearing through much of the city on destroying homes, schools, and leaving thousands without power.

Sadly, the tornado’s winds peaked at 140+ miles per hour… directly above my high school. This short documentary showcases the scary moments that occurred, the destruction the tornado caused—and also the strange hope that came from the community despite the damage.

Despite people losing homes, power, and more, this piece focuses on how the power of a motivated community can repair even the worst physical damage.
